READ USA hosts the "Peace In The Pages" event in October each year in connection with ONEJAX on or near Mahatma Gandhi’s birthday.

This event promotes the link between literacy and the values of unity, diversity, equity, empathy, social justice, peace, non-violence, health, freedom, leadership and success.

Seven recipients are recognized for exemplifying these ideals with the 1.) READ TO BE FREE, 2.) READ TO REMEMBER, 3.) READ TO HEAL, 4.) READ TO LEAD, 5.) READ TO SUCCEED, 6.) Marjorie Broward Memorial, and 7.) Mark Landen Memorial “Journalism for Democracy” awards. Relevant cultural performances and lunch are provided.

All proceeds support READ USA programming.
