Tutoring Position

Summer Leadership Academy

You are applying for the 2024 Summer Leadership Academy. This is a paid opportunity to interface with the community, explore career interests, and complete a culminating project of workforce development by the end of summer. This opportunity has limited slots.

The deadline to submit is April 19, 2024.
You will be notified of the acceptance decision by April 30, 2024.

You will be asked to submit a reference letter, which will play a critical role in the application process. Please fill out this application in its entirety as incomplete applications will not be accepted. You will be required to attend ALL sessions June 3 - July 11, Monday - Thursday, 9:00a.m. - 3:30p.m. and a few occasions outside of those hours which we will notify you of before the summer begins.

AmeriCorps Tutor Leaders will interact with and deliver high quality reading lessons based on pre-written reading lesson plans to elementary students. AmeriCorps Tutors Leaders will teach elementary students in essential reading skills to include phonics and word work, vocabulary, reading accuracy, fluency, comprehension and writing.
