LITERACY TUTORING
At the beginning of their employment with READ USA, teen tutors receive an intensive two-day training in literacy skills to effectively tutor elementary students are who struggling to read. Once in place at an elementary school, tutors receive ongoing, in-the-moment coaching as needed from certified reading teachers during their daily lesson implementation to maximize their effectiveness. Additionally, tutors are provided time for professional development during their daily tutoring schedule. This time is used to plan their tutoring lessons, receive training in instructional techniques, or learn about relevant workforce development topics from a variety of career experts.
