Tutors will interact with and deliver high-quality reading lessons based on pre-written reading lesson plans to elementary students. Tutors will teach elementary students essential reading skills including phonological awareness, phonics and word work, vocabulary, reading accuracy, fluency, comprehension, and writing.

Tutoring takes place Tuesday-Thursday from 3:00-6:00 pm at various DCPS elementary schools.

Reporting to the Tutoring Operations Director (TOD) and/or Program Specialist, the After Care Teacher plays a crucial role managing the READ USA aftercare room(s). The main responsibility will be to monitor and provide guidance to elementary students awaiting their tutoring session each day.
