Becky Nathanson
Senior Director of AmeriCorps & HR
Becky Nathanson joined the READ USA team in September 2025 as the Senior Director of AmeriCorps & HR. She is responsible for ensuring a high-quality experience for AmeriCorps members and the overall success of the READ USA AmeriCorps programs. Additionally, Becky will lead components of the organization’s Human Resources, specifically in creating and revising policies and procedures.
Becky has over 25 years of varied Human Resources experience. Her experiences range from high volume recruiting to labor relations, to instructional design and delivery and leadership development.
Beginning in first grade, when a teacher asked her to practice reading with a classmate who had just arrived as a refugee from Cambodia, Becky has been involved in serving at risk students with reading and homework assistance. In the past she has volunteered as a tutor at four Title 1 elementary and middle schools, working primarily with English Language Learners. She is thrilled to have the opportunity to use her professional skills and experience to further the mission of READ USA.
Becky grew up in Jacksonville in the Miramar neighborhood and now lives in Lakewood. Aside from stints in North Carolina and Paris, France, Jacksonville has remained home. She and her husband Josh share their home with their teenage son, two cats, and Little Lady Luna the Regal Beagle.
